Solicitors and Law Firms can now obtain Continuing Professional Development credit by attending courses run by The Colour Works.
Our flagship course is “Personal Impact and Communication” which attracts 6 hours and 15 minutes CPD. Click here for course overview.
Based on Jungian psychology, and using an accessible, colourful model of human behaviour, the 1 day course explores differences in delegates’ preferences and styles.
Negative perceptions of these differences can lead to diluted or awkward relationships in the workplace or with clients. The course suggests ways of adapting and connecting by using awareness of each others’ approaches and reactions.
In recommending the course for approval, the Solicitors Regulation Authority recognised the relevance of the course to the work of Solicitors and suggested by way of one application that “…there is an increasing need for effective management within Law Firms.”
Regional law firm Ellis Jones’ Managing Partner, Nigel Smith (pictured central) said, "Although we pride ourselves on our client care, we recognise that much of our training has a technical focus.
The Colour Works are helping us attain the highest levels of relationship building with our clients - and within our organisation.”
So, whether looking to develop a team, understand leadership, increase revenue or manage business change, solicitors can now benefit from some exceptional material whilst accruing highly relevant CPD credits”. Email us now and we will be in contact.
Personal Impact and Communication Course Overview
Aims and learning outcomes for Solicitors and Law Firm support staff
Having attended this course, delegates will…
- Have a greater self-awareness and understand the effect that their personal behaviour may have on others - both positive and negative
- Recognise and value what different personality types bring to a team and how to maximise these contributions to the benefit of each other and the firm as a whole
- Be able to identify and apply effective communication strategies when interacting with peers, team members, subordinates, other colleagues and clients
- Understand their own Leadership Style and Management style, motivations and preferences - and that of others
- Take responsibility for their part in creating communication solutions rather than focusing on the problem
- Be motivated to take action
Pre course
20 minutes
Each delegate will take an on-line psychometric evaluator. It is from this that we produce the personal profiles referred to later in the course. The evaluator also kick starts the process of self awareness.
Workshop leaders
The workshop leaders are all accredited to use the Insights Model of Human Behaviour and have considerable experience in training. With 22 associates across the UK, we are confident of having someone close to your firm.
Course venue and accommodation
This is likely to be at the Law Firm’s premises. If not, then a venue will be booked appropriate to the parameters laid down by the Law Society.
Administration and support
The Colour Works’ head office has dedicated administration staff who are briefed on the record keeping requirements of the CPD accredited courses. We automatically maintain records of delegates attending all our courses – and confirm that appropriate records will be maintained and available for Law Society inspection if and when required. Each client will be assigned an account manager and support will be available from this person (likely to be the workshop leader) in conjunction with administration personnel.
