Award-winners The Colour Works are now creating a colourful stir in the world of solicitors! Having achieved SRA Accreditation, Dorset-based training and development company, The Colour Works, can now offer 'communications' training courses. Solicitors and Law Firms obtain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit by attending a 1-day 'Communication and Personal Impact' workshop.

Based on Jungian psychology, and using an accessible, colourful model of human behaviour, the workshop explores differences in delegates' preferences and styles. Negative perceptions of these differences can lead to diluted or awkward relationships in the workplace or with customers. The course suggests ways of adapting and connecting by using awareness of each others' approaches and reactions.

Local firm Ellis Jones' Managing Partner, Nigel Smith said, "Although we pride ourselves on our client care, we recognise that our training has a technical focus. The Colour Works are helping us attain the highest levels of relationship building with our clients - and within our organisation." He added, "Our training programme commenced with a successful and enjoyable key-note speech at our Annual Conference - which our staff are still talking about, months later!".

In recommending the course for approval, the Solicitors Regulation Authority recognised the relevance of the course to the work of Solicitors and suggested that "...there is an increasing need for effective people management within Law Firms."
